Support for the Living or Dying

"Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it."

- Haruki Murakami

Support for the Living

I offer my service and skills as a professional companion. My goal is to increase the quality of life for you or your loved one. I provide non-medical support, activities and companionship, meeting the person where they are at in life. I have compassionate listening skills and a passion for helping a person live their best life, no matter the circumstances. My support is given in an open-minded & nonjudgmental manner encompassing emotional, practical, physical or spiritual needs - whatever may be important to an individual. I walk beside you, not in front of you. I honor the unique individual, and respect your autonomy, assisting with an open & loving heart.

Support for End-Of-Life

I bring added support, peace of mind and presence to the dying and their loved ones in whatever setting is called home. As a certified End-of-Life Doula (EOLD) I work collaboratively with other services and care providers, including palliative and hospice teams. I follow and reinforce established plans of care. I do not appropriate the role of any other care provider.

My role is one of holistic support acting as an extension of both the person’s support network and their professional care team. I strive to enrich the dying experience for my client and their loved ones by being a nonjudgmental, comforting presence centered on the care of the whole person as they transition. I am a calm, knowledgeable presence that can help navigate through the signs and symptoms of the dying process along with the complex emotions that may arise for both the individual and their families. I lovingly serve to provide for the emotional, practical, physical and spiritual needs of the dying.
